Interplay of Total Quality Management, Employee Reporting and Hospital Planning for Enhanced Patient Safety

Abstract
This paper examines the interplay of total quality management, the reporting process, the planning practices and patient safety development at Dr. Abdullah Al-Rassi Governmental Hospital in Akkar and Al-Minieh Governmental Hospital in North Lebanon. The originality of this paper is the first investigating of Quality Management, Reporting, Planning and Patient Safety at hospitals in Lebanon. Additional research should be investigated on quality management for patient care in hospitals. This paper aims to examined best applications of reporting and planning process for the patient protection. A descriptive method and quantitative approach were applied. A sample size of 550 respondents was selected 480 respondents from Dr. Abdullah Al Rassi Governmental hospital and 70 respondents from AL-Minieh Governmental Hospital. SPSS version 26 software, SPSS Andrew F. Hayes Model 6 and Confirmatory factor analysis by AMOS Software were applied in analyzing data. The results define that determinant is equal to 0.001, KMO is equal to 0.886 that are acceptable. Approx chi-square is equal to 3751.2. The model factor of the communalities output is providing acceptable results. All questions are examined in the reliability test Cronbach’s alpha are providing equal of 0.856. The correlation interpretations of the variables are providing a Sig lower than 0.05. The confirmatory factor analysis, Regression weights of variables and elements interpretations are fitting the results. Employee Reporting has a Positive Impact on Total Quality Management Partially Mediated by Hospital Planning. Employee Reporting has a Positive Impact on Hospital Planning Partially Mediated by Patient Safety.
